Our Packaging Philosophy
The wrap reflects
the craft inside
At Rolling Hills, we believe the experience of eating great chocolate begins the moment you pick up the bar. The weight of it. The feel of the paper. The sound of the foil as it opens. These details are not accidents — they are decisions.
We chose classical aluminium foil because it is the material of the great chocolate houses — it preserves the bar perfectly, is fully recyclable, and has an honest, unassuming elegance. The handmade paper outer wrap is a statement: this bar was made by hand, and it deserves to be held in something made by hand.
Nothing about our packaging is off-the-shelf. Every element was selected to reflect the quality, care, and authenticity of the chocolate it contains.
Anatomy of a Rolling Hills Bar
Three layers, one intention
The innermost layer. Our bars are individually wrapped in classical food-grade aluminium foil — the same material used by the finest European chocolate houses for over a century.
Aluminium is the ideal material for chocolate: it creates a complete barrier against moisture, light, and odour without imparting any taste. It keeps the bar at peak freshness and preserves the crisp snap of our tempered chocolate.
Food Grade Recyclable flavor-Neutral Moisture BarrierThe outer layer is handmade paper — textured, warm to the touch, and sourced from artisan paper makers. It is the tactile signature of a Rolling Hills bar: you know before you open it that something special is inside.
Each wrap is hand-folded and sealed. No machines. The slight variations in fold and texture from bar to bar are intentional — they are evidence of the human hands that made it.
Handmade Biodegradable Artisan Sourced TactileOur front label features elegant foil stamping on crisp white paper, proudly displaying the Rolling Hills mark, the bar's name, its unique origin details, and our signature tagline. On the reverse, a matching white paper sticker neatly details the ingredients and additional product information.
For corporate gifting and bespoke orders, this outer layer can be customised with your branding, a personal message, or a special occasion design - while preserving the premium handmade paper aesthetic.

Hand Packing
Every bar, by hand
After tempering and moulding, every Rolling Hills bar is packed by hand. We do not use automated wrapping machines. This is a deliberate choice — not a limitation.
Hand packing is slower, but it means every bar receives individual attention. Each one is checked for snap, gloss, and surface finish before it is wrapped. If it doesn't meet our standards, it doesn't leave the facility.
Quality Check
Each bar is visually inspected for snap line clarity, surface gloss, and correct weight before packing begins.
Foil Wrap
The bar is placed on a pre-cut sheet of food-grade aluminium foil and hand-wrapped with precise folds on each end — creating a complete, airtight seal.
Paper Outer Wrap
The foil-wrapped bar is placed on the branded handmade paper and folded with the same careful technique — label centered, edges crisp.
Sealed and Ready
The completed bar is sealed and placed in the dispatch box. Every Monday, freshly packed bars leave for customers across India.
